histories of quiet

We tackle loneliness and social isolation through oral history projects, building friendships while gaining a better understanding of our shifting experience of quiet.

Small Silence engages with local people to capture and create digital content for museums and communitiy groups. This has included aural history and interactive audio and video content shared on websites and social media to engage those who are isolated or have mobility difficulties. We also have the expertise to reconstruct historical soundscapes based on interviews and archival material.

The focus of the work is around our shifting experiences of quiet. All of the interviews, discussions and work produced provide us with a better understanding of our changing relationship with tranquil spaces and the activities people pursue in them.
